Product category
Split Systems
A split system pairs one outdoor condenser with one or more indoor units. It is the most common form of air conditioning in Australia because it is efficient, relatively simple to install, and can be added room by room rather than as a whole-building project.
Best suited to
- Single rooms, bedrooms, home offices and living areas
- Small offices, shops and consulting rooms
- Retrofits into existing buildings where ductwork isn't practical
- Multi-head configurations where several rooms need independent control
Things to weigh up
- Each indoor unit is visible in the room, so placement matters
- Outdoor unit location affects noise for you and your neighbours
- Multi-head systems share one condenser — sizing across all rooms matters

VRF Systems
VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems vary refrigerant flow to many indoor units from a single outdoor plant, matching output precisely to what each zone needs at that moment. They are the standard approach for larger commercial buildings with many zones and very different load patterns.
Best suited to
- Multi-storey offices and multi-tenancy buildings
- Facilities with many zones needing independent control
- Buildings where some zones need heating while others need cooling
- Sites where plant space and pipe runs are constrained
Things to weigh up
- Higher upfront cost, offset over time by part-load efficiency
- Design and commissioning quality determines real-world performance
- Controls and BMS integration should be planned at design stage, not after
VRF design is where sizing errors get expensive. We assess the building's actual zoning and load profile before specifying plant.
